Has anyone any information on these overprints. They are British stamps of both George V and VI overprinted with a swastica, some also with Jersey 1940.
They are up for auction. I have never seen any bids and suspect they are not genuine. They may be classed as Cinderellas but think they are spoof or bogus.
The only British stamps overprinted by the German occupation of Jersey were never used and have become a very expensive collectors item.
I have asked a number of well known dealers about them and they all say not to touch them. Also the British Stamp Museum has no knowledge of them.
Have tried many times to contact the seller, asking for information, but there are no replies to my emails.
Would appreciate replies from collectors who may have any knowledge of what they are.

Hi,
Having a problem attaching scan, however if you log into ebay auctions UK and click
on stamps then local issues then either ending soonest or newly listed, you will find
the stamps.
When I first attempted to get information,I posted a message on ebay asking
if any other collector had a problem with the dealer.
Ebay sent me a message saying they had removed my message and i was not allowed
to make enqires of this type concerning dealers.
I was somewhat upset by this so I contacted their chat line and after about half an hour
all I got was this dealer was registered in the USA.( Rather strange when on his listings he
appears to be in Greece) Although he can place items on ebay USA he may not be able to
list thm on Australia ebay. It all became a little confusing.
If you would rather not go into ebay ,send me an email at nick-annette@grapevine.com.au
with your email address and I will send a scan of the stamp.
Will be interested in your view after viewing the item.

What you have are known as propaganda stamps they were used during World War II. They were to try and use fake postage stamps in Britian and Germany alike. Also in various other countries, as Italy, Austria just to name a few. So in a sense the stamps you have are not bogus but not real stamps. And yet they used as real postage then, the reason no one really checked to hard on postage in europe, Most were busy trying to survive. The site Propaganda and Philatelic Stamps should be able to give you more information on what you have and the writer might be able to help you find a price list. And no your stamps are not worthless.
